I had high hopes for my stay at Hotel St. Helena, especially given its fantastic location in the heart of town, surrounded by amazing restaurants. However, the experience fell short due to multiple issues, including unexpected room fees and a lack of cleanliness. While the staff did accommodate my late check-in request, the dirty conditions, and poor overall management made my stay quite disappointing.

Rooms
5.0
The room was surprisingly small and had an unpleasant odor. I didn't expect a communal bathroom setup, which was not made clear during booking. It definitely affected my comfort level.
Service
5.0
The front desk was virtually non-existent, and I found it frustrating that no one was available to assist with even basic needs like more toilet paper. I had to leave the keys outside upon check-out, which felt unsafe.
Location
5.0
The location is the best part of this hotel, right in the center of Main St, close to great dining options and shopping. I appreciated being able to walk everywhere.
Dining
5.0
While dining options nearby are plentiful, I was disappointed that the hotel didn’t offer any meal service. I expected more amenities considering the price I paid.
Facilities
5.0
There seemed to be no facilities to accommodate guests properly, including a lack of cleanliness and no staff presence, which made my stay feel frustrating.

I enjoyed my stay at Hotel St. Helena, primarily due to its unique historic charm and wonderful hospitality. The traditional decor transports you back in time. However, the lack of modern amenities, such as an elevator and effective air conditioning, can be a drawback, especially during warmer nights. 🏨🌟

Breakfast was a simple continental spread with limited options, which could use some variety.

While they provided some assistance with tours and tickets, it felt basic and could be improved.

I recently stayed at Hotel St. Helena and overall, my experience was a mix of charm and frustration. The historic ambiance and location were certainly appealing, but I had significant issues with customer service that left a negative impression.

The hotel has a beautiful historic charm with traditional decor. However, it may not be suitable for everyone since there’s no elevator for access to the rooms.

Though I appreciated the hospitality of the staff, my attempts to reach them via phone for assistance were met with significant challenges, and responses were slow.

My stay at Hotel St. Helena had its ups and downs. Check-in was a breeze with a cheerful front desk staff, and my bed was surprisingly comfy. However, the room was quite small for the price, and there were certainly some maintenance issues that caught my attention. Overall, the charm of the hotel shines through, but improvements are definitely needed.

Rooms
5.0
The room was the size of a typical bathroom, and I found the pillows to be unpleasant. The bed felt cramped, and I struggled with temperature control at night.

I experienced unfriendly service from some staff, but one front desk attendant named Mary was a bright spot. She provided great recommendations and was thoughtful during my stay.

While the hotel had some attractive features, it could use some updates to its facilities. The charm is there, but several areas could be improved.

The location of Hotel St. Helena is fantastic, right in the center of the Main Street shopping district and surrounded by great restaurants. However, my experience was marred by cleanliness issues and a lack of staffing support. I felt the hotel had charm but needed serious updates and attention to hygiene.

Rooms
5.0
I booked a room with a communal bathroom, which I wasn't aware of. The room was dirty, with stains on the bedsheets and peeling wallpaper. I ended up upgrading to a private room, but it still felt far from clean.
Service
5.0
Staff availability was nearly non-existent. I ran out of toilet paper and had other questions but couldn't find anyone to help. When I checked out, I was given no clear instructions on key return.
Location
8.0
The location is definitely a highlight, right outside excellent restaurants and in the heart of town, making it easy to explore the area.
Dining
7.0
There are great dining options nearby, including a place called Cook, which was recommended and conveniently located just across the street.
Facilities
5.0
The hotel is historic, but it showed signs of neglect. I noticed updates and upkeep were definitely lacking.
